After his Tuesday morning workout, AWA Supreme Championship #1 contender, Leon Elliot, broke away from his busy schedule to answer some questions for AWASupreme.com. In this interview, Elliot talks about his future goals, his past accomplishments, and his plans for this weekend’s 60-minute Iron Man match for the prestigious AWA Supreme Championship.
So, what does Leon Elliot do to prepare for one of his biggest matches ever?
I’ve been in the gym more lately, training harder than my normal routine. I’ve been studying some other past matches Draven has been in, including his Tag Team Iron Man match against Dance and Dazzle.
What did you notice about Eric Draven after watching his past tag team ironman match?
He’s always prepared, and he knows he way around these matches; which isn’t a surprise for someone who has been around the business as long as he has.
But you're no rookie yourself. You have had a very decorated career here in AWA Supreme, including a historic 2017. How do you think that your championship pedigree will assist you in this match?
It shows everyone, not only Draven, what I can accomplish. Not only will it show that I’m going into this match confident, it shows all the fans and Draven that I’m not someone to take lightly.
I notice that you've mentioned showing the fans something. After your huge year, do you still have a chip on your shoulder?
Not at all. I go out there with two things on my mind each and every week, and that’s winning and being the best in that ring.
If you win this match, you would have achieved the AWA Supreme Triple Crown in one calendar year. Where do you think that will place you in the company's history?
Easily as the best wrestler, not only in their modern history, but in all of AWA Supreme’s history. It was no fluke that I’ve accomplished all the I have. I’ve won the 2016 Rookie of the Year award, been a 3-time Mid-America Tag Team Champion, the Mid-America Heavyweight Champion, the 2017 King of Supreme,
and the 2017 Surviving the Steel winner. I’ve beaten the likes of Rob Conway, who is a former World’s Heavyweight Champion; and I’ve beaten former Impact Superstar Sharkboy. I’ve stood toe to toe with Bullet Club member Chase Owens, and took him to his limits as well. It’s no fluke of where I’m at in my career.
No, it is not. Before we conclude this interview, is there anything that you would like to say directly to Eric Draven?
I’m going to let my actions in the ring do all my talking for me on Saturday.
Well, we can end on that conclusive note. Thank you for your time today, Mr. Elliot.

Hello, AWA Supreme fans! This is Dallas Glenn from AWASupreme.com sitting here with the NEW AWA Supreme Mid-America Champion, and one half of our AWA Supreme Mid-America Tag Team Champions, Angus Barnett. How are you doing, this evening, Angus?
Better than Roger.
You both have had some heated exchanges with each other as of late, do you think that this recent victory of yours is the end of your rivalry?
It's no secret Roger and I are very different people. He likes going out in the woods and doing yoga like a giant nerd. I Don't. He likes to write long Facebook posts about books and poems and giant nerdy stuff like that. I Don't. It's just how it is; and as far as our "rivalry" goes, if he wants to try and get the belt back, he can try and take it from me.
Well, it is interesting that you mention defending your new championship so soon. How will you balance being one of the best tag team competitors in the world along with being a top singles star in AWA Supreme?
A lot of people will say that it's a lot of pressure to be so great and talented, I am not one of those people. The past few weeks, I've been telling everyone that me and my partner, “The Hollywood Giant” Tommy Cash, are main event attractions, and I think I proved that last week.
But you may be underestimating just how grueling your schedule may become! What if you have to defend both of your championships in the same night?
Then I will do so, plain and simple.
Well, with confidence like that, it looks like you have been grooming yourself for this moment your whole career. Before you go, what do you have to say to your future challengers in the Mid-America Heavyweight division?
Better be ready, I got Hollywood's biggest star and AWA's smartest manager on my side.
Thank you for your time, Angus!
